Peggy Heeg is an experienced corporate director and business leader who has served in executive and board leadership positions for numerous public and private companies. She has significant audit committee, M&A, governance, regulatory, compensation, and risk experience gained from years of service in the energy and professional services sectors.

Peggy is a member of the board of directors of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), the independent system operator of Texas’ electric grid that performs financial settlement for the wholesale power market in Texas. Peggy serves as the Chair of ERCOT’s Human Resources & Governance Committee and serves on ERCOT’s Finance & Audit Committee (Reliability and Markets Committee). She is also a board member of WhiteWater Midstream, a privately held natural gas company.

Peggy previously served on the boards, audit committees, and conflict committees of TC Pipelines, LP (NYSE), Columbia Pipeline Partners, LP (NYSE), and Eagle Rock Energy Partners (NASDAQ), until each company was sold. Peggy also served as the Chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee of Eagle Rock. Peggy has served as a commissioner on the Texas Lottery Commission with responsibility for the strategy, financial, risk, and regulatory oversight of an agency with $5B in annual sales.

Until 2021, Peggy managed successful law practices with Reed Smith and Norton Rose Fulbright, two of the fifteen largest law firms in the world. In
her law practice, Peggy advised leading companies on complex energy, regulatory, and corporate governance matters. Recognized for her strategic insight, Peggy was asked to serve on both firms’ boards, with responsibility for driving profitability and defining the strategic direction of the firms.

Prior to her law firm career, Peggy spent fifteen years with El Paso Corp, a Fortune 50 international energy company, including serving as Executive Vice-President and General Counsel leading $6B and $24B mergers. Peggy began her career as an attorney and advisor to a commissioner at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

In addition to her corporate board and professional experience, Peggy has served in board leadership positions for numerous non-profits including the United Way of Greater Houston and Direct Women.
