Wendy Breuder was Arizona President and Head of Corporate Real Estate and Resource Location Strategy. Previously she was Co-General Manager and Head of Midwest General Industries within the US Wholesale Banking Division of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) in the Americas. MUFG in the Americas is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MUFG, headquartered in Japan, with principal subsidiary operations of MUFG Union Bank, N.A. and The Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. in the United States.

Ms. Breuder has been recognized by the prestigious American Banker Magazine’s Most Powerful Women in Banking – Top 25 Women to Watch in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Ms. Breuder has been a lead negotiator for financing billions of dollars for mergers, acquisitions, business expansion and operations both domestically and internationally. She has extensive mergers and acquisition target identification, negotiation, due diligence, financing and integration experience. Ms. Breuder also has Initial Public Offering (IPO), debt capital markets and rating agency experience and has led institutionally top-ranked organizations.

Ms. Breuder managed over 12 million square feet of real estate and was the senior executive responsible for the bank’s corporate real estate and resource location strategy in the US. She was also responsible for transforming the real estate footprint and creating and executing the strategy for a newly created shared services initiative in Phoenix for the US, generating expense savings of over $50MM annually.

Previously, Ms. Breuder managed over 175 of the largest multinational Fortune 500 corporate relationships within the US Corporate Banking Division. Her team was responsible for client relationship management and facilitating new business opportunities in over 40 countries with an emphasis on Asia. Her team consistently led the US Wholesale Banking Division in both top-line revenue and net operating revenue. She also worked closely with the bank’s Loan Marketing Joint Venture partner, Morgan Stanley, on specific client relationships, mostly involving mergers and acquisitions. In 2015, Ms. Breuder was one of 22 elite professionals chosen by the bank to conduct an enterprise-wide continuous improvement strategy. She was directly responsible for analyzing six lines of business in eight countries to find synergies in an effort to reduce expenses and improve operating revenue.

Ms. Breuder served as the Chair of MUFG Union Bank Foundation’s Audit Committee, a member of the Board of Trustees and the Chair of the Texas, Illinois, New York, Georgia, and Arizona (TINGA) Committee. In this capacity, she chaired the committee that allocated charitable contributions to the communities within the TINGA states. Ms. Breuder is also a founding member of the bank’s employee resource group, Women’s Initiative Network.

Prior to joining MUFG in the Americas, Ms. Breuder was Co-Head of US Corporate Client Coverage and Chicago Branch Manager at BNP Paribas. In this role, she was directly responsible for client relationship management and had extensive experience financing mergers and acquisitions with Fortune 500 clients operating globally. Ms. Breuder prepared and executed the strategy to achieve a top 10 ranking within the large corporate banking community and had direct responsibility for the relationship with the Federal Reserve Board of Chicago.

Currently, she is the Vice-Chair of the Sandra Day O’Connor Institute for American Democracy. Ms. Breuder has served in numerous Board of Director roles for several civic organizations, the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, the Musical Instrument Museum, the Japan America Society of Chicago and as a founding member of the Business Council for the Art Institute Chicago.

She is a graduate of the Kellogg School of Management, Women’s Director Development Program at Northwestern University, and a 2015 alumnus member of DirectWomen.

Ms. Breuder earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami. She also earned a Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar. She holds Finra licenses series 24, 63 and 79 and the NMLS SAFE Certification for Mortgage Loan Originator.
